You can get a score of 7 if you fulfill the band parameters for writing. There are 4 band descriptors for the writing section. 1. Task achievement 2. Coherence and cohesion 3. Lexical resources 4. Grammatical range and accuracy. If you score well in each of the parameters, an average score is taken. The task 2 carries 2/3 band weightage. The score is doubled. Task 1 carries one third weightage. Finally the mean average for task 1 and task 2 is calcualted and then you get your score for Writing.
