Overview

Banking Industry is considered as one of the fastest growing sector in India now. Banks provide very lucrative carrer for the young graduates in the country. Large number of vacancies exist in both private and nationalised banks in India. Private banks have there on separate recruitment processes but all major Nationalised banks (except SBI and its associates)  recruit candidates through a common written examination conducted by IBPS.

Job Profile

Clerical Staffs are mainly front end staffs of any banks mainly doing teller jobs and other routine jobs of clerical nature.

Officers have to undergo a probation period during which they will be given training and assign various tasks and assignments under different verticals like Administration & Deposits, Loan Departments etc. After successful completion of probation they will be designated for a particular department.

Promotion Prospects

Fresh Graduates and Post graduates can apply for the post of clerks or entry level Officer post(Scale 1). Lateral recruitments in higher scales are also happening nowadays due to large vacancies because of  retirements of existing staffs. Nowadays promotion policies in nationalised banks has become very appealing. A bright clerk can become an officer in just 2 years and an officer in Scale 1 can become Sacle 2 in just two years. A talented officer joining a bank can rise up to General Manager (Scale 7 ) in around 16-20 years.
