According to Maharshi Patanjali:

Yoga is not bond for any particular religion, though its orgin was from Adiyogi/lord shiva. It was taught for the well being of the humanity.

As per Yoga - The squat stands as Jhanga Shakti Vikasak Kriya. It has two parts: Part 1- Also called Jumping Jack. As per Yoga - The squat stands as Jhanga Shakti Vikasak Kriya. It has two parts:

  • Part 1- Also called Jumping Jack. In this Kriya, we put our legs together and keep our hands close to our thighs which is the pre-position of our Kriya. It has two variations. The first variation is we starting jumping on our toes by widening our legs and taking up our hands with inhaling and vice versa, and now, by exhaling, we bring to Samasthithi (pre-position) of the pose. The second variation is we do the same process by exhaling upwards and inhaling downwards.
  • Part 2 - Jhanga Shakti Vikasak Kriya. It is also called a Chair pose. The pre-position for this pose we stand with our feet together with a 3 to 4 inches gap, and it can be modified as per our comfortability, i.e., can be taken 1 feet distance between the feet. Now we keep our hands parallel to each other and raise them with palms facing downwards, raising them upto the shoulder level. Now While inhaling, we go down with the formation of 90 degree or right angle between the thigh and the knees to ankles. Ensure that our thigh is parallel to the ground, and now, by exhaling, we need to come back to the pre-position, which is our standing position with hands up to the shoulder level. We can do this kriya count as per our capacity.
