Automobile engineering is a specialised branch. So the company related to automobile visiting Private colleges is very less or NIL. It is better to go for B.Tech in Automobile only from Prestigious institutes like IITs and some NITs. If private is the only option, then Go for B.tech in Mechanical and then after qualifying GATE you can opt automobile in M.Tech.
In a nutshell, I summarise that it's better to opt general core branch( Mechanical) during B.Tech and go for specialisation in M.Tech.
