Definition of a “good guitar” is highly subjective. What will sound good to me might not sound good to you.

Well, depending on your budget and choices, experienced guitarists look for the following things in a guitar:

  1. Type of guitar: Acoustic/electric/semi-electric
  2. Body size: Full body (41″) or smaller body (39″). Trust me sound differs a lot depending on the size.
  3. Top: If it is a solid top or a laminate top. Solid tops are way more expensive and will sound unbelievably good.

There are many such factors which comes down to personal preferences.

If you are a beginner and are looking for a fairly inexpensive guitars to begin with, you would soon be less and less satisfied with the sound as you earn more experience.

In my opinion, investing in a good guitar pays off with time.

If you are looking for good sounding acoustic guitars under Rs. 10,000, you might want to try GB&A SAG100, Yamaha F310, Fender Squier SA-105, Ashton D20 to name a few. They all have a full bodied sound and you would be able to play these to your satisfaction for years to come.
