Special Education (Slow Learners)

"Recently I came across this institute, where they introduced us to special learning courses. Although they offer a range of programmes, I was interested in the slow learning one. It has always been a task to understand why a child is taking the time and if they are then how it can be catered. Mr.Vinod, founder, walked us through the journey of how a child’s brain responds and what we perceive as slow, is actually not slow. It was an eyeopener having spoken to him about how wrong we understood a child’s growth. The founder here promises to inculcate the required teachings and knowledge important for a child to sustain in life. He also applies the same methodology for his own child while homeschooling him. It was an excellent experience to know how little we know about a child’s development and learning curve. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is suffering from any learning disabilities. The sooner it is addressed, the better it is. "

One of the most significant contributions of Ustad Zakir Hussain is that before him, tabla was not mainstream (I am absolutely not implying that there were no maestros before him - In fact his father the great Alla Rakha was a legend in his own right).

Before him, tabla was always viewed as an accompaniment and the focus was always on the primary performer (be it a vocalist or any other instrumentalist like the sitar or the sarod). But he burst on to the scene and he made tabla look contemporary.

His TV commercial appearances (Taj Mahal Tea - link below) helped demolish the unnecessary orthodox/elitist image of classical music (From the average TV watching crowd in India, even if someone is absolutely ignorant about classical music, the moment you say ‘Wah Taj!’, they would instantly understand what you’re referring to - some would even do a silly head rocking movement similar to how ‘he’ does)

Riyaaz is a very important, and it is good to practise atleast 1 hour a day, starting with vilambit(slow speed) first and then do the ‘fixed compositions of the gharanas’ in drut laya.

It is also good that you have a good sense of visualising time and quantising it. I mean you should be comfortable with layakari. Practise speaking a composition aloud everyday, and try to play with its speed.

Finally, to become an artist, learn the parts of what makes a performance as an accompanist.

German is not as foreign as it might seem. German is an Indo-European language, which means that it shares a common (albeit distant) root with English. In terms of linguistic roots, English is closely related to German. In fact, English descended from German many centuries ago.

While there are some things that make German more complex to learn than other languages, it isn’t nearly as difficult as many people make it out to be. Most of the rules and speech patternsthat you are accustomed to are exactly the same in German as in English. And it has a much more similar vocabulary than nearly any other language. It also has similar sentence structures, making it easier to start to get the flow of the language a little faster.

Some of the difficulties people face with German are similar to those they face when learning other languages.  Perhaps the most jarring difference is that German is not nearly as flexible as English If there is a rule in the German language, then there are few, if any, exceptions to it.

German Language, learning an specific language for specific country will always help to live in that place, and adjust in their environment. Those who wish to settle in Germany, to study, work or live there, need to learn German. To many it may sound like a lot of stuff to learn and a lot of hard work to do and maybe even senseless, but actually it is not. If you really want to make a life in Germany, one thing is paramount: you have to speak German. There you mainly learn German, but you'll also learn about your rights about living in Germany.

As German people are very much connected towards their culture and language, so if you have the knowledge about their language and culture you can easily connect with them. The beauty of German is that it enables the speaker to express an idea in its deepest complexity with only one word. Other languages might need a whole sentence for the same meaning.
