IELTS and GMAT serve different purposes. GMAT is for proving your aptitude for MBA and IELTS is for proving your english proficiency. So if you are from a non-native english speaker then apart from GMAT you would also hae to take IELTS to prove that you can understand english and would be able to go through a english medium taught course such as MBA.
