GMAT Test Taking Strategies (Section Wise)

If you are looking at a management course to earn your bread and butter in future, the GMAT is the first step to begin with. This open entrance test and its score is accepted by top B-schools and graduate colleges during admission procedure. Statistically, a good GMAT score opens door to almost 6000 graduate management courses. GMAT Test taking strategies In India, presently around 50 B -schools consider GMAT score when it comes to management level admission. So to widen your academic opportunity specially for management courses, GMAT is the root to begin from. On knowing this, before you start taking the course, here are some GMAT test taking strategies that will make this entrance exam an easy challenge for you. A typical GMAT questionnaire is divided into 4 segments -- Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Section and Verbal section. The GMAT test strategies are divided into four such sections for easy understanding of students: Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) Take a side The writing section of GMAT does not look for a right or accurate answer. Examiners here tend to look for a well versed opinion oriented answer. Your tone, voice, facts ad examples should clearly support one aspect of the given topics. A biased or democratic view may make it tough to score. Interesting start and end In the long essay you prepare, the into and conclusion are most important. Even if examiners miss the in-between part of the essay, the starting and the ending are never missed. Therefore, make sure your craft breath taking intro and ending for your write-ups in the AWA section of GMAT exam. Integrated Reasoning (IR) Complete your answer The IR questions of GMAT exam are often split into parts. Students tend to be overjoyed by solving one such part of a problem, and leaves he rest. This can lead to real loss of score. Make sure you answer every part of a given problem, in order to bag a good GMAT report. Rationality in guesswork Also, when doing a guesswork in IR section, make sure, your guess answer is backed by rationality and logical reasoning. Though guesswork has led many to good marks, its important to do its right use at the right time. Quantitative Section No mental maths The MCQ mathematical problems might look small in size but includes lot of calculations. Do not take the pain of ding the calculations mentally as they lead to silly mistake. The invigilator will provide you ample scratch paper where you can calculate and solve the sums. Make complete use of the extra sheets in order to score better in GMAT. Use the time bank Save maximum time in hand for the Quant section. This is not only considering the tough nature of GMAT paper; but also because students score least here due to lack of time. IF quality time is invested in the Quant section, a very good score is possible in this as well. Verbal section Apply English grammar Here, your English skills are at stake and you can score good by applying English knowledge. Do not apply tricks like reading and guessing the answer, as examiners do not consider them valid. Right English with correct grammar is the only key for a good score in GMAT Verbal Section. The section wise split and the correspondent test taking strategies are sure to bless you with a good score in GMAT exam.
