It's how you practise rather than how much flute practise, that's the real key here. In other words, you can work very hard, but not make much progress. And to be a better musician you should have a guidance of Guru.

Its purely dedicated practice will make you a lovely flutist. not cake walk.....reproducing the tune is hardest challenge every instrumentalist faces.
this can over come only through perfect music knowledge. My suggestion is try to sing maximum to know about the song or keerthana which you want to play, as it will register perfectly in your mind.
