Tips for new Piano players

Piano was developed in the early 18th century and is considered as the queen of all musical instruments. Sitting in the middle of a large arena and playing Piano is every pianist’s dream. Most of us witnessed such scenes only in movies and never had a chance to see it in real life. The reason for this situation is simple, we don’t have that much talented Piano players around us who can play Piano and entertain the crowd with magical compositions.

Tips for Beginning Piano Players

Learning Piano is not a simple task and you need a lot of concentration and dedication to master its chords. Being a Piano player will not only help you to get fame and earn money but it will provide you a feeling of relaxation whenever you are tensed. As a beginner, you need to keep these points in mind before taking Piano lessons:

  • Know Piano and its parts: Before starting your basics, it is important that you should have a detailed knowledge about Piano and its parts. Try to study each and every section, its name, functions etc. It is better to go through the history and invention of Piano so that you understand the instrument better.

  • Hire a professional Piano teacher: If you are planning to learn Piano extensively, it is good to hire a professional Piano teacher or take admission in a reputed Piano coaching institute. But before taking admission, make sure that the Piano teacher is experienced and qualified enough to teach you the basics as well as advanced lessons of Piano.

  • Understand the theory: Whether it is dance, music or instruments, understanding the fundamentals and basics are the most important step one should follow before start practicing. Learning the basics of theory, chords, notes etc. will make you more confident to deal with the instrument and it will definitely increase your skills to play varied compositions as your training progresses.

  • Concentrate more on scales: Playing scales regularly will help you to identify the sharp and flat notes in every single keys. Moreover, it will provide you more speedy fingers and make you more attached to the instrument. Don’t be in a hurry to learn all the scales, learn slowly and it will surely increase your knowledge of 12 key signatures.

  • Play your favourite music: Most of the trainers ask the students to play music preferred by them only. This can be boring and you may feel irritated by practicing the same kind of music every day. Therefore, try to play your favourite music in between the classes with the permission of your teacher. This will make you feel refreshed and confident.

  • Break is important: Long practice sessions may hinder your concentration power and it may frustrate you. Therefore, you need to take breaks at regular intervals to recharge yourself. Engage in some other activities for few minutes and then start again.
