Here book , desk are used as names of things. 2. What is Pronoun? Answer: A pronoun is a word which is used instead of a noun. For eg., The largest slice is mine. Here mine is a pronoun. 3. What is Verb? Answer: A Verb is a word which says something about a person or thing. In grammar a saying-word is called a Verb. For eg., Ram kicks the ball. Here kicks is used to say something about the Ram; namely what he does. It is therefore a saying word. 4. What is Adverb? Answer: The words which adds something to the meaning of a verb is called an Adverb. For eg., Ram goes to school daily. Here the word daily is added to the verb goes to tell when Ram goes to school. 5. What is Adjective? Answer: In Grammar, describing-words are called Adjectives. They are so called because they add something to the meaning of a noun. For eg., Lazy students fail. Here Lazy tells what kind of students fail. 6. what is Conjunction? Answer: A Conjunction is a word that joins words or sentences together. And, or , but are used to join one sentence to another. For eg., Do your work or I shall punish you. Here or joins the sentence . 7. What is Preposition? Answer: A preposition is a word placed before a noun (or a pronoun) to show in what relation the person or thing denoted by the noun stands to something else. For eg., He lives near us.
