Currently I am working as a tester now, and looking to get trained in Data scientist.
Will that be a good decision, if I change my stream and move to data scientist field ?
Yes,
I used to work in software testing in 2014. After, my master's from IIT Guwahati, now I am working as a research engineer in Machine learning domain.
Data Science is a beautiful field. It involves fundamentals of Statistics. You may need to study various Machine learning algorithms such as decision trees, linear regression, logistic regression, SVM, neural networks. Its an amazing thing to learn.
Learning mathematical concepts like linear algebra, probability and calculus will help you in understanding the working of these algorithms.
Its a good decision to move to data science. Its in high demand and will also nourish your brain.

And it requires good programming skills in Python, R languages. If your logical skills are good and have passion in programming, and can afford 1,20,000 and 6 months time, yes, changing ur stream to Data science would be good decision. Otherwise, you can choose Performance testing in ur relevant field, learn LR/JMeter in 1 or 2 months urself or joining a good training with just 10k-20k & switch ur job in current company itself or outside without any risk and effort.

Hi Venkata, first thing, you should change your field asap. Testing doesnt get you any premium and you know best the future of testers.
As a career progression, i would suggest you to look one step further. Dont stop at Data science but get into Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI). Market is moving aggressively towards ML/AI. Most of the high value premium jobs are coming into ML/AI. Data Science is mostly covered in most of ML/AI training program. Focus on ML/AI, learn how to train and test models to predict most accurate results/outcomes. This is what Industry is looking for. How they can make their systems intelligent, so that it can do cognitive thinking and solve very complicated human probelems.
we at aCubeIT provide ML/AI training and we have students from most reputed MNCs mostly from testing background.
