Stepping back with your left foot 

Shifting your weight to your right foot 

Sidestepping to the left with your left foot 

Moving your right foot to your left foot 

Sidestepping to the left with your left foot again 

Shifting your weight to your right foot again 

Sidestepping to the right with your left foot 

Sidestepping to the right with your right foot 

Posture

Jive posture includes keeping your feet together with your heels touching and your toes slightly out. You should also bend your knees a little, bring your upper body forward, and stretch your spine.

Landing on your toe ball and heel 

Jive is a lively dance that originated in African-American communities in the early 20th century. It evolved from other African-American dance styles, including the Jitterbug.
