I think a lot of reason behind it but main three reasons are-a)The British cotton manufacturer began to expand and pressurized the Govt. to restrict the import on cotton.
b)The British cotton manufacture looked for to expand the overseas market for selling their cloth.
c)As a result,Indian Textile faced a tremendous competition in other countries.
