Let the additive inverse of rational number x is -x, Then x + ( -x ) = 0. (i) additive inverse of x = - x = - 11/15 ∴ 11/15 + (-11/15) = 0 And additive inverse of -x = - (-x ) = - ( -11/15) = 11/15 ∴ - 11/15 + 11/15 = 0 Thus, - ( -x ) = x ...

Let the additive inverse of rational number x is -x, Then x + ( -x ) = 0.

(i) additive inverse of x = - x = - 11/15

∴ 11/15 + (-11/15) = 0

And additive inverse of -x = - (-x ) = - ( -11/15)

                                              = 11/15

∴ - 11/15 + 11/15 = 0

Thus,  - ( -x ) = x

 (ii) additive inverse of x = (-x ) = - ( -13/17)

                                            = 13/17

∴ -13/17 + 13/17 = 0

And additive inverse of -x = - ( -x ) = - ( 13/17)

                                              = -13/17

∴ 13/17 + ( -13/17) = 0

Thus,  - ( - x ) = x
