Is it okay to punish college students if they don't do work properly because some parents tell they need result only and they insist on beating and punishing students but as a tutor, I am finding it difficult to balance between parents and students?

No you should not beat them. Instead you should motivate them to do better by beating their wrong attitude. Try and make their parents understand that they can fetch nothing by beating and scolding their children. Things explained with love are realized in a better way.

Try to learn for knowledge instead of marks. When you start studying for knowledge study becomes fun in itself. You feel more confident and you will end up generating interest in studies.
