I have been training students to face IELTS exams for more than 20 years now. I guide my students to aim for nothing short of a band 8. I dedicate 10 hours on each skill ie., Reading, Listening,Writing and speaking. I use 5 hours on basic grammar and spend the rest five hours on mock tests. I also set an achievable and practical time table for the students . I have personally taken the exam and strongly feel that intense practice is the best tool to employ. I enjoy teaching small batches as it allows me the freedom to spend more time with each student. I have taught with inlingua, New Delhi. CL Educate Chennai and Kerala and Kings learning Bangalore. IELTS is a test of your language ,so everyday one must find ways of improving the target language through reading and listening. Methods and ideas to execute it is taught by me at the very outset of the course. I have so far trained more than 5000 students pan India.

BBC Earth has many episodes which can help you improve your listening skills and also provide you with excellent exposure to new words. History channel also offers an excellent documentary.
