IdentityAmit has a work experience of over 20 years across various industries which includes Operations/Training in the BPO sector and various Educational Institutions.
He established his own commercial institute in 1990 in Kolkata by the name of Grace Commercial Institute, where he was the Principal–cum-Proprietor. There were many subjects taught by different teachers at his Institute. He taught Spoken English & Personality Development to the students and working class people for almost 10 years.
In 2000, he joined the First International Call Center of Bangalore by the name of First Ring India Pvt Ltd as a CSR, taking calls for an Outbound Campaign (Voice), selling products over the phone to US & UK customers. He was later promoted as a Team leader. As a Team Leader, he did a lot of Floor Coaching and Mentoring and assisted the employees to achieve their targets. He was then promoted as a Supervisor in Operations (Outbound Campaigns). He worked in that company for 5 years.
In 2005 he joined another International Call Center by the name of Nirvana Business Solutions. He worked there as a “Sales Trainer” and a “Soft skills Trainer”. He trained many batches on communication skills, customer service, telephone etiquette, selling skills and different processes for Outbound Campaigns. The associates were trained extensively over the phone via role-plays, so that they could sell products over the phone to US and UK customers. He got promoted in Nirvana Business Solutions as Senior Manager (People Development & Employee Welfare). Was the Company’s Counselor, wherein the office employees approached him with their issues (personal & professional) for guidance, and they were guided accordingly.
Amit has also trained office employees, team leaders and supervisors on people-management skills, team building, assertive communication, positive attitude, leadership qualities, stress management, etc.
After a few years, Amit diversified and started training Engineering, Management and Postgraduate students on Soft Skills for placement purpose in different companies. The topics included Communication Skills (voice, verbal, listening skills, body language), Assertive Communication, Group Discussions, Manual Presentation Skills (how to overcome stage fear, techniques of giving good presentations, etc), Telephone Etiquettes, Resume Writing, E-mail Etiquettes, Team Building, Leadership Qualities, Stress Management, Positive Thinking, Personality Development, Motivation, etc.

During the same time, Amit also started taking Life-Skills Sessions at Schools/Colleges/Management Institutes with regards to the problems faced by the youth and adults, viz. Amit is also a Counselor and has counseled many individuals and families with regards to different problems they have faced in their lives. As a Counselor, he has appeared in News 9 Television Channel a number of times, guiding the youth and adults in all life-related issues. He has been counseling and training young couples to have a good, healthy married life. He also counsels parents on “Parental Skills”, thereby, improving their relationship with their children. He trains parents with constructive & positive ways to deal with their teenage children. As part of a Government initiative, he was invited to Manipur and Nagaland as part of a team comprising a doctor and social workers to set up a Detoxification Camp for addicts/alcoholics. There were many patients who came to the camp for detoxification. He has also taken Life-Skills Sessions at Rehabilitation Centers for Drug/Alcohol Abuse, followed by Counseling.
His Article on “Healthy relationship between parents-children” and a clip on “A little guidance goes a long way” has appeared in a Leading Daily. He also used to go to an Orphanage & a Handicap Home once a week to take Life-Skills Sessions and counsel the hurting individuals out there.
In November 2012, he had taken a 6 Hour Workshop on Life skills at Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The workshop was entitled “Winning is an Attitude”. The Press was also invited for the workshop and a journalist published an Article in the Hindu Newspaper.
