Hi, your son is too small to understand the concept of patience and stability. He is at the age of exploring every little thing. Patience is something he will learn with time. The efforts you have to make are to be a little strict with him because this is the age at which he'll always follow it if he learns the discipline. Else, he won't.
Make his time table of studying, make his studies fun learning, reward him not much else he will always expect it, and not do work next time if not rewarded. I have taught small kids; all kids are like this. They do not like to get controlled and are very active, always impatient. The method I used was competing with him, doing the same work as his and, most importantly, telling him that we will play the game at the end or do painting or drawing anything they like.
I hope this helps!
