The vocal music practical exam in universities is generally conducted as below:
1)The syllabus for the exam is predecided
2)For a 100 marks paper, there will be 1.5 to 2 hours of exam conducted
3)Marks are allocated based on intonation(Shruti) perfectness, tala perfectness, confidence in presenting , expression in the singing, etc.
4)One may have to carry their own tanpura accompaniment.
