4 Tier of SSC CGL Examination

The examination which is conducted every year by the Commission of India, SSC CGL - stand for Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level. It is an examination for the job posts in Central Government Departments. Since the examination pattern has undertaken few changes, this getaway examination has been divided into 4 Tiers. The first two Tier i.e., (Tier -I and Tier II exam) will be conducted in an online mode, whereas newly introduced Tier III examination is the descriptive paper where Tier-IV is (DEST/CPT). The Tier -I online examination for this year is scheduled on 5th August 2017 to 24th August 2017, with a registration of 64,09,965 candidates and Tier-II examination is scheduled on 10th and 11th November 2017. To understand the 4 Tier of SSC CGL examination better, explore the details of the tiers below.

4 Tier of SSC CGL Examination

Tier-I: The Tier- I is a preliminary test and it has 4 segments - General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English Language. Each section has 25 questions which sum up to overall 100 questions. Each question conveys a weight age of 2 marks alongside negative marking of 0.5 imprints for each wrong answer. Thus, this examination has 200 marks in total. On the other hand, the duration of the examination is now decreased from 120 minutes to 75 minutes. Tier-II: The Tier-II of SSC CGL Examination is a mains test. To crack this round, you need an experienced math tutor. Remember, unlike the other tiers, this tier has Statistic, Finance & Accounting and Economics and Governance section. Simply, the Tier-II has four sections - Quantitative Aptitude generally carries 100 questions, the English Language carries 200 questions, Statistics carries 100 questions, where the fourth segment is partitioned into two subjects: Finance & Accounting with 40 questions and Economics & Governance with 60 questions. Each section carries a weight-age of 200 marks, where each negative marking per question is 0.50 marks, except the English Language with 0.25 negative marking. Tier-III: The Tier-III is a descriptive paper test in Hindi or English Language (and no other Regional Language is allowed). The examination is scheduled on 21st January 2018. The Tier- III test comprises of application writing, letter writing, and essay writing. The duration of the examination is 100 minutes and the minimum percentage for qualification is 33%. Tier-IV: The Tier-IV is a computer proficiency and data entry skills test (DEST/CPT). As per the Staff Service Commission of India, Tier-IV is due on February 2018. This Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) is for Assistant Section Officer in CSS, while Data Entry skills test is for the post of Tax Assistants.
