Working as Assistant Professor in department of Chemistry, St.Mother Theresa Engineering Collge, Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India. I have nine year teaching experience in. My research area mainly focuses of synthesis, characterization, antimicrobial, DNA binding and DNA cleavage activity of metal complexes of chalcone, silatrane, Schiff-base and primary phosphine based ligands. In these fields I have published six papers in the international journals (Journal of coordination chemistry, Journal of sebian chemical society, Spectrochimica acta). I have chosen these fields due to the novelty of the following reason. Metal complexes are important for our health, both endogenous and exogenous in origin. The transition metal ions are responsible for the proper functioning of different enzymes. Chromone derivatives have been of special interest to organic synthesis due to their biological activities including antimycobacterial, antifungal, anticonvulsant, antimicrobial and mushroom tyrosinase inhibition activities. Silatranes constitute a unique class of pentacoordinate silicon compounds and have been extensively important because of the stereoelectronic influence of the silatranyl group in shaping the reactivity of the exocyclic functional group apical to the transannular bond.
