The Americans invented this word and they have been using it quit frequently. As you know, many multinationals, in order to save Money, are outsourcing their work to cities in India. When an American says that he has been Bangalored, What he means is that he has lost his job because his company has decided to move its operations to a city in India – not necessarily Bangalore. The name derives from the city of Bangalore, India. You must remember that during the early stages of outsourcing most of the companies were moving to this city – Bangalore was then perceived as the silicon valley of India. The American’s fear of losing jobs to the city of Bangalore gave rise to another word: Bangalore phobia. read less

AFAIK, this word entered the lexicon in the context of the widespread hiring of employees in the IT field in the IT domain. At one time, it was observed that a number of recruits in this domain were hired by Bangalore-based employers. Matters came to such a stage that it became fashionable among IT companies around the globe to set up a presence - even if token - in Bangalore. The consequence of this development was that U.S.-based IT workers - which is where this word got coined - started feeling threatened and started developing an inferiority complex. The phrase "being Bangalored" alludes to the typical U.S. worker feeling edged out by their Bangalore counterpart. They began finding themselves out of jobs. read less
