'I am in Kannamangalam' or ' I am at Kannamangalam' is used for the question
"where are you" ? or "where are you now?" .It indicates "placement"
If you reside in Kannamangalam , like you have rented/own a house(with/without family) or work there ,
Then you say "I live in Kannamangalam."
Why modern-day writers have discarded using 'at' for villages. - will be able to explain if you can elaborate.
