TestNG and selenium are 2 different things.
TestNG is a testing framework to unit test your code. Where as Selenium is used for automating the Testing your web applications in conjunction with testing frameworks like TestNG & JUnit.
If you wish to learn TestNG, go through their documentation, understand how it works, write a piece of code/methods and try writing tests to break that piece of code.
