One thing uou can try is Madra Sadhna i.e, the more you sing and sustain each swara of lower octave, it increases your range itself allowing you to sing in higher notes. Other thing you can do is, take some alankar, practice it till taar Sa. Once your voice starts gaining command over the swar and speed, you can go higher in the same alankar like till taar Re or Ga. This will help you to sing higher range swaras. If any confusion, you can approach me for help. read less

Dear Student, for singing high notes you need to religiously and regularly practice Alankaars initially. And once you master them,Second step would be to go ahead with Raags that contain high pitch notes. Do remember you need to obtain shelter of a genuine sangeet guru and under his/her guidance you need to recite and sing along to master them because music is more into implementation of using theoretical knowledge into practical existence. This is a practical art and needs practice under supervision of a genuine music guru more than only reading theory. God bless you. Alok Sharma. read less

Hi, I am interested in learning singing. I have given performance at school level. After that I am not in touch with music. Also, I have difficulty in singing high notes. Kindly suggest which type of music should I carry on for practicing?
Hi Ankita, Nice to know that you want to learn music. I would suggest to continue the music which you were learning at your school level. So that you can learn it easily and then move on to the advanced lessons.
