Salesforce is acquiring Tableau to combine the world's number one CRM with the number one analytics platform. This move will enable Salesforce to expand beyond its core CRM offering and deeper into the lucrative data visualization sphere ¹. By integrating Tableau's analytics capabilities with Salesforce's Customer 360, companies will be able to tap into data across their entire business and surface deeper insights to make smarter decisions ². This acquisition will also enhance Salesforce's Einstein AI platform, delivering the most intelligent and intuitive analytics and visualization platform for every department and every user at any company ². The acquisition is valued at $15.7 billion and is expected to be completed during Salesforce's fiscal third quarter ending October 31, 2019 ¹ ³.
