Robotics is a domain that is in huge demand in Industrial automation, Hospitals, Disaster management, exploration (including Space) and many such fields where accuracy is very important and/or human life is at risk. A third factor is reducing human intervention in doing work which is the automation domain. A lot of research and development is going on in these fields and it needs qualified people to work in there. Do remember that Robotics is a multi-disciplinary domain when one would be expected to know one or more skills such as programming/coding, circuits, microcontrollers, mechatronics, audio/video/image processing, artificial intelligence and operating systems. I may have missed few skills but these are the major ones. In India, just coursework in Engg. colleges is not sufficient.
