Hi Tina, just imagine 100% of students appeared for exam ,out of them 89% passed in exam i.e remaining 100% - 89% = 11% are failed ie 11% = 473 100% = ? (473 * 100)/11 =4300 ie 100% is 4300 no of students appeared is 4300
