PHP is a back-end Web Development language, which is often used to create website. More than 80% of websites around the around use PHP to code the back-end.
So, Python vs PHP, then if you are interested in Web Development then you can learn PHP and also you may need to learn front-end languages like CSS & Javascript. While Python has various other applications including web development (but not popular as PHP), Machine Learning, Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence.
