For delivery of speech, open with power so that you grab everyone's attention at first, use your voice as a tool to bring variety and excitement to your speech with regualr pauses during speaking, so that people can catch up with you and to let them gather their thoughts. When addressing an audience, you MUST constantly be aware of their reactions. If they don't seem to be getting involved, try asking them a few questions. One of the biggest mistakes that speakers make is talking AT the audience rather than having an interaction with them.
