Yes, sight words helps them to recognize how to pronounce each word and helps the to go with the flow (ie., continuous learning). This will help to build toddlers confidence.

It's always easy and fun to teach children reading through synthetic systematic phonics methods which are backed by science like Jolly Phonics. Sight words reading is nothing but memorizing words which doesn't help children with reading and writing skills.

Is it important to speak slowly and clearly with good phonics?
Yes. When you speak slowly, you have more control of your words. It will give you time to think about the next idea or thought. Speaking clearly will not leave space to misunderstandings.
