Yes, you can paint on fabric using acrylic colors. Acrylic paint works well on fabric, providing vibrant colors and good adhesion when properly applied and set. Here's how you can paint on fabric using acrylic colors: 1. **Prepare the Fabric**: Wash and dry the fabric to remove any dirt or sizing. Iron the fabric to ensure it's smooth and free of wrinkles. 2. **Choose Acrylic Paints**: Use acrylic paints specifically formulated for fabric painting. These paints are flexible and durable, designed to adhere to fabric fibers. 3. **Prepare the Paint**: Mix the acrylic paint with a fabric medium to improve flexibility and adhesion. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the correct ratio of paint to fabric medium. 4. **Painting**: Apply the acrylic paint to the fabric using a brush, sponge, or even a fabric marker, depending on your desired effect. Use multiple thin layers for better coverage and to prevent stiffening of the fabric. 5. **Drying**: Allow the painted fabric to air dry completely. You can speed up the drying process by using a hairdryer on a low setting or by placing the fabric in direct sunlight. 6. **Heat Setting**: To set the acrylic paint and make it more durable, heat set the painted fabric using an iron. Place a cloth over the painted area and iron on the reverse side for a few minutes at the recommended temperature setting for the fabric type. 7. **Washing**: Once the paint is heat set, the fabric should be washable. Follow the care instructions for the fabric, typically washing it inside out on a gentle cycle and avoiding harsh detergents or bleach. With proper preparation and application, acrylic paint can be a versatile and permanent option for painting on fabric, allowing you to create custom designs on clothing, accessories, home décor items, and more. read less

Yes,  I recently did that on a canvas tote bag. Steps I followed are as follows

1. Cover the backside with a piece of cardboard to avoid unnecessary color transfer on other side of fabric. Or you can use the embroidery rings too if available.

2. Use white acrylic color as base. Apply using appropriate brush size as per surface area.

3. Let's it dry completely.  Acrylic paints may feel dry within few minutes but I suggest you to wait for at least 4 hours.

4. Now, draw or  teace desired motifs and patterns.

5. Start using other acrylic colors and enjoy the process of completion.

6. Once done, leave the fabric for 24 hours.
