About the course

Jolly Phonics is a comprehensive programme, based on the proven, fun and muliti-sensory phonics method that gets children reading and writing from an early age. We teach letter sounds as opposed to the alphabet. This is a group online class. 

Focus of the class will be decided based on the child's need. Any one or a mix of the following areas can be customised for the child. 

1. Basic letter sounds: Introduction of 26 letter sounds with a multi-sensory approach involving actions, stories, songs, and practice of blends for comprehensive learning.
2. Reading:After mastering the initial letter sounds, children progress to combining the sounds to read and write CVC, CCVC, and CVCC words like "sat," "stop," and "nest."
3. Spelling: Identifying beginning, middle and ending sounds, also known as segmenting. This skill helps the children to spell.
4. Sight words(also known as Tricky words)- Sight words do not follow phonics rules. Introducing the frequent sight words increases reading fluency and enhances confidence.
