Machine Learning is advanced statistics, which is quite different from what you studied in CS. However, it's not very difficult to learn as you must be aware of basic statistical modeling such as Regression and Classification. These basics would help you a lot in learning advanced statistical models for machine learning. There are 3 different path to take here - 1. you can build upon your knowledge of basic statistics to learn about Timeseries, Clustering/Segmentation, Market Basket Analysis, k-NN, Neural Network and SVN etc.. thru online resources such as YouTube, KDnuggets.com, datasciencecentral.com and kaggle.com. 2nd path would be to get into R, SAS or Python programming if you are already a programmer in your current role. But again you should know what you want to do (statistical concepts to use the programming language). But, this path is little easier for the computer programmers as they can relate their current skill with starting point in data science. 3rd path is learn thru Hadoop training. Spark is a very powerful tool for machine leaning on big data. You can reach me for more info. read less

Agree with Swapnil Sharma. For you to be successful in Machine Learning you will need Statistics in depth knowledge. Should be good at mathematics like counting, permutations, combinations, calculus topics like differentiation and integration.

You need to have good understanding of inferential Statistics and Prediction analytics.Otherwise ,you can not understand it properly.People are teaching machine learning without teaching above two topics.Just they are cheating.So becareful.Ig you need more info,contact us

To enter the world of machine learning, which is the future and current, you need to have a very good understanding of fundamentals. If fundamentals are not strong, technically noone can learn anything. I can say, there is more demand from companies in india and abroad for Jr and Sr Data Scientist, but very very less supply as very few people are somewhat expert in this technology. Also everyone wants the best person whom they can hire. We have tied up with many corporates who give us their demand, we shape the people to fulfill the company's demands and then the companies hire those people on either their Payrool or ours. In either way, Students get the job. It is vocational training which we run where we don't teach people only on technology, we teach fundamentals in a flow so that students grasp the entire flow which is what Companies demand.
