You can follow these tips to improve your English:
- Make a practice of reading the English newspaper regularly, mainly select the section that you enjoy reading the most. Underline or note down the unknown words.
- For a permanent record, make a folder 'vocabulary' in My DOCUMENTS. Type the words, read the definition of the terms, find out meanings/synonyms. Check how the words are used in different contexts in sentences.
- Once you have understood, try making sentences with the original words and get it checked from someone well-versed in English.
- Every day try to make a list of five words and practice them.
This practice will increase your stock of words, and you will become familiar with these words by using them often when the situation arises. Listening to English news and debates is also another way of improving vocabulary.

Regular reading from newspaper/ article of your choice will help you to get familiar with the language and vocabulary. When you come across unknown vocabulary, underline the words and then please refer to the dictionary. Read the definition, find out the meanings and synonyms. Also, see how the word/expressions are used in different contexts in sentences. It is advisable to create a separate folder named 'Vocabulary' in 'My Documents', and you can incorporate all the words in the folder as a permanent record and for daily practice. Try making sentences with the terms and get it checked with someone good at English.

Make the practice of reading the newspaper/magazines/articles of your choice and underline the words you don't know or understand. Read the definition, find out the meanings of the words/synonyms and how the terms are used in sentences. Make a dictionary of such words and save it in a folder in 'My Documents'. In this way, increase your stock of words and practice using it in different situations. Also, follow the same method while listening to the news or any conversation. Regular listening also helps in enhancing your vocabulary.

To be familiar with the language, make a practice of reading at least one or two pages a day any article of your choice from English newspaper, magazines etc. Take out a topic and speak out aloud in front of the mirror in a quiet place. It doesn't matter whether you right or wrong, always try to speak in English with the person who speaks in English. This will help you to overcome your shyness and inferiority complex. You have to start somewhere. In your free time, listen to some English conversations on YouTube, watch English movies which have British accent etc. Never try to think in your native language and translate into English. A native language and a foreign language is entirely different.

Yes, Bengali language is totally different from Hindi Language, it is widely spoken in West Bengal, and it has a different writing script from Hindi, Though you may find some common words or similar words in both the languages. One important difference between both the languages is that in Hindi everything is defined on a gender basis, which is not the case in Bengali, "Aami Aaschi" is applicable for both the genders. But in Hindi, it is "Main Aata Hoon" for male and "Main Aati hoon" for female.
