0In this advanced era of modernization, technology and advancement, communication plays a vital role which makes it mandatory for all pupil to understand and communicate in English language. But unfortunately many of them are not able to pronounce English in the same way as it is required. So this essay belongs to those specially who are facing the problem in pronouncing the sounds in the exact manner.
To commence with, it is observed in modern era that many people know English well but due to their M. T. I influence, they fail to speak it in proper pronunciation which effectz their personality in very bad manner. To overcome this complex there is a requirement to learn so sounds in English. It is known by all that sounds are majorly divided into two terms : Vowels and Consonants.
Vowels are the sounds in English language at the production of which air comes from the lungs without any friction .For example the initial sound in english word: art, ink, up, opt,east, answer, ape and the middle sound in english word: bird, cut, loose, put and call .
Whereas the consonants are the sounds which creates friction while production For example the initial sound in the english word: car, bar, dog, fog, gear, lamp, neck, mike, post, etc.That friction can be felt by placing finger on the vocal cords that reside under our face on the neck.
Along with that, there is another term which is very important to learn while learning pronunciation of English is that Dipthongs. Dipthongs are the sounds of speech which occur when we speak two vowels together as aa+ee=kite; the middle sound. In the same way the other dipthongs are the english words: poor, hear, care, buy, boy, cow. Now it is time to throw light on the techniques that can make people good in their pronunciation.
First and foremost thing to learn is to Listen Carefully. As it is seen that people these days are not good listeners. To learn pronunciation, English should be properly listened. It can be done by various ways like listening to English news channel, taking interest in listening music and listening to britishers conversation as it is their mother tongue so they speak with adequate pronunciation.
Secondly, they should try to move their mouth in way they will see britishers moving while watching English news. It will gradually assist people the acual pronunciations. As children learn while watching their parents speaking in their childhood.
Thirdly, it is highly recommended that people should record as they listen britishers. After recording, they should listen what they have recorded. It will help them to understand their mistakes in a very well manner.
Fourthly, it is suggested that they should learn the R.P symbols which are the part of Phonetics in which they will get a chance to learn about the whole sound production process which will benefit them in many ways. Although it is not possible to learn for everyone as it requires tutor but other methods can be easily opted by those who aspire to improve their accent.
To conclude my views, I would say that as dinner is incomplete without sweet dish in the same way, English is incomplete without pronunciation. To develop the overall personality, English with proper accent must be learnt.
