IELTS Grammar Preparation - 5 Important Chapters

You may wonder when did Grammar section walk in IELTS. Well, even if there is not a separate Grammar section, the examiners do keep an eye on your grammatical capabilities. In this chapter, you will learn several kinds of clauses and their application in English sentences. Once you understand sentence framing with apt application of clauses, the next step is to move to conditional clauses. An example of conditional sentence is - If I had enough money, I would plan a world tour. Tense is an important aspect to cover when framing conditional sentences. Important chapters: Definition and types of clauses, Complete the sentence with right clause, Clause and their uses, Using clauses in sentence construction. Grammer 3 Verb You may feel, you have learnt verbs since school and you know it well. If you are confident, just brush your knowledge once more with your mentor or study material. In case, you think you are not so well versed with verbs then do not hesitate to start learning it from the start. Verb is one of the primary chapters of English grammar that you need to learn for both IELTS score and a bright career ahead. Important chapters: Right use of verbs, Fill in the blanks with verbs, Correct forms of verbs, Kinds of verbs, Using appropriate verbs in oral and written communication. Grammer 4 Phrases & idioms Bring innovation and style in your way of communicating in English by adding phrases and idioms in them. There are many lists of phrases and idioms available online and offline. Learning them up is not the ideal recommendation. While you learn new phrases and idioms, make sure you know how to apply them in your English sentences. Important Chapters: What are phrase and idioms, When to use phrases and idioms, Phrases and idioms list, phrases and idioms meanings, Using phrases and idioms in communication. Examples: Grammer 5 Punctuation Though most IELTS examinees portray good grasp over English, they tend to fail when it comes to writing. The most common mistake in written English is adding wrong punctuation. Its recommended, that you make a list of all punctuation that you may probably add in your writing and confirm from authentic sources about their uses. It’s a wrong placement of a comma or exclamation mark that can hamper your entire attempt to be the best. Important Chapters : Kinds of punctuation, Use of each kind of punctuation, Punctuating and capitalizing English sentences, Using correct punctuation in writing section. Examples: Grammer 6 Grammar in any language is not only about learning. It’s about, knowing the apt application of grammar at the right time to showcase good communication skill.

I am having problem with the listening section in IELTS. My specific problem is with last part of listening section where the pace of information is high and you have to understand it all to answer questions 31 -40 .

You can definitely focus on the keywords or connecting words in the question and try focussing on the words being spoken during the listening test. This will enhance the probability of you spotting the right answer against the noted keywords.
