Hi!

Here are 3 common grammatical mistakes that I encounter while teaching. Are you making them?

Incorrect sentence:

1. Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful monument in the world.

Correct sentence

1. Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful monuments in the world.

Explanation : 'one of the ....' is always followed by a plural noun.

Incorrect sentence

2. His language skills are too good.

Correct sentence

2. His language skills are very good.

Explanation : 'too' and 'very' are adverbs that are followed by an adjective they describe. 'too' has a negative meaning, so if we intend to describe something positively of a higher degree, we use 'very.

Incorrect sentence

3. I went on a trip and I felt more relaxed.

Correct sentence

3. I went on a trip and I felt very relaxed.

Explanation : This sentence is meant to convey a higher degree of a quality; 'more' is mostly used as a comparative.
