It will increase your job opportunities in companies. If you want to settle as a consultant it will be you need to put more efforts. That is bit different equation. Since you have practical exposure too, your chances of new job ops will increase. Still if you need more clarification you can approach me. If you have Finance background then I suggest FICO Module, if your background is sales related, then SD, like that for every corporate functionality you have a module in SAP to learn.
