HTML is HyperText Markup Language and XHTML is Extensible Hypertext Markup Language. XHTML is combination of XML and HTML. It has stricter syntax as compared to HTML. We can write syntax in lower or uppercase in HTML but not in XHTML. XHTML is more structured than HTML.
