Will SAP ABAP be obsolete?

SAP ABAP is not likely to become obsolete in the near future. While SAP is transitioning towards cloud-based solutions like SAP S/4HANA, which involves newer programming languages and technologies, ABAP continues to be a crucial part of the SAP ecosystem. Many businesses still rely on ABAP for customizations, reports, and interfaces within their SAP systems. Additionally, there is a vast amount of existing ABAP code in use that will require maintenance and enhancement, ensuring a continued need for ABAP developers. By staying updated with the latest SAP technologies and continuously improving your ABAP skills, you can remain relevant in the field. It's essential to adapt to the changing landscape of SAP while also leveraging your ABAP expertise.

ABAP will never be obsolete but it has been named differently as ABAP on HANA . FIORI , UI5 , Odata , Hana Studio etc. are mandatory things to know if someone wants to progress in SAP Technical domain nowadays .  Ability to write program only on SE38,SE80 like it happened in early 2000-2020 will no longer work and give a job .
