What are the characteristics of a good HR Manager?

In my opinion ideally HR manager should have following skills sets or characteristics

• Knowledge & understanding about organizations core Business.
• must understand & follow companys vision and mission.
• Expertise in Human Resources domain (recruiting, operations, compliance, payroll, performance management)
• Interpersonal Skills.
• Time Management and Self Discipline. 
• Trustworthyness.
• Impartial attitude.
• must be able to Train, Develop, and Mentor.
• Good listening skills.
• Strong ethics & values

In today's time good charactersitic of an HR Manager is to be creative bend of mind to understand the situations in today's time looking at current generation. The art of taking team along in an organization. Along with this the HR Manager needs to be visionary, Self discipline and fair emotional quotient which will help  to build the base for the orgazniation on strong values.

HR ensures employees understand and receive feedback on how their work contributes to the achievement of the organisational goals.   

Compensate, rewards and recognizes employees based on their contributions to business objectives; they need to attract,  motivate and retain a capable workforce; and the fiscal environment.   

Selects and retains the most suitable individuals based on competence and ability to meet the organizational needs.  

Committed to becoming a learning organization and will create continuous learning opportunities for its employees. 

Provides a  safe work environment and supports the wellbeing of employees.
