According to 8 states (Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana) of India is a Hindi region. The people of these regions speak and understand Hindi very well whereas the people of other regions understand the Hindi but they prefer to communicate in their regional languages. So, we can say that it’s a way of communication among Indians.

Even the people of our neighboring countries (Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh) speak and understand Hindi very well.
