Yes, it is quite possible to teach any of the Indian languages to a foreigner. The most important thing matters is "Patience". You have to teach with patience and slowly. There is a saying in English: "Slow And Steady Wins The Race". I would rather suggest you to give them 10 words everyday to memorize and conduct a verbal test at the end of the week. Of course, you should ask the meanings of these words every next day during your session, so that they keep a close track on these words and try to remember, I would also like to mention here that I have taught one US based student (foreigner) and she has picked up well in Gujarati. Presently, I have a local student who is interested in learning Gujarati Language and his mother tongue is German. It may take time for the student in learning the language, but they will pick-up gradually if they are using their day to day conversation in that language. So don't worry, teach them and they will learn slowly and steadily. You can view the reviews of these two students on my page. read less
