Benefits of Rack Awareness: 1. _Improved data locality_: Hadoop can store data closer to where it's processed, reducing network traffic. 2. _Enhanced fault tolerance_: Hadoop can replicate data across different racks, ensuring data availability in case of rack failures. 3. _Better network utilization_: Hadoop can optimize data transfer between nodes, minimizing cross-rack communication. To enable Rack Awareness in Hadoop: 1. _Configure rack topology_: Define the rack layout in the `topology.script` file or using the `org.apache.hadoop.net.NetworkTopology` class. 2. _Set rack awareness properties_: Configure properties like `dfs.network.topology.script.file.name` or `net.topology.impl` in the Hadoop configuration files.
