At the end of the book there is transcript of all audio tracks. Play the CD and listen with simultaneously reading the transcript of the track. Thereafter read the transcript aloud. Not the best solution, but a fairly good method, in case you don't have other options.

Though nothing can replace actual language classes at a good language school like Max Mueller Bhavan, online training can be very effective to learn German till B1 level. As online training is like personal classes the learner get full attention and monitoring from tutor. And if aptitude of learner is above average and interest great then one can achieve even better standards as well as understanding, reading and writing of the language is concerned. Listening aspect can also be handled with audio material available on internet and in CDs. Speaking aspect may, but not necessarily, have a drawback as learner would be limited to speaking or practicing with tutor during the duration of online class. In actual class one interacts with other students of class in the language being learned, but then it may not go well if overall aptitude of interest of class is below average. It has been seen even at Max Mueller Bhavan, that in many classes people lack interest and aptitude to speak. In online class, due to personal attention at least some standard of speaking is guaranteed and one can always read out dialogues from a book to practice speaking and test it with tutor. For A1 standard depending on the aptitude of the learner and the time other than classes one can devote any number of classes between 10 to 30 can be OK.
