Eligibility: It is open to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent. Final-year students are also eligible to appear for GATE. 3. For every wrong answer, 1/3 of the marks are deducted for 1-mark questions, and 2/3 for 2-mark questions. 6. Validity of Score: The GATE score is valid for three years, and it is used not only for higher education admissions but also for recruitment in **Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)**. 7. Competition and Popularity: GATE is highly competitive, with over 5 lakh candidates appearing each year. It is one of the toughest exams in India. 8. No Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to appear for the GATE exam, allowing professionals to pursue further studies or career opportunities later in life. 9. Global Recognition: Although GATE is primarily an Indian exam, its score is accepted by several international universities for graduate-level admissions.
