I have given the UPSC. The best way is to start reading The Hindu daily and try finishing NCERTs from class 8 to 12.Along with that, you can also read relevant chapters from The India Year Book by GoI, MoI&B. This would be a good start. Consistency is important.

UPSC has issued the notification for CSE 2020 exam on 12th Feb. Please go to www.upsc.gov.in and read the details carefully. First, understand the mode of review and the syllabus. There are three stages: Preliminary, Mains & Interview. It takes almost one year for the completion of the entire process. So a disciplined, self-driven and focussed approach is needed. Start your preparations one year ahead of the prelims so that you get ample time for covering the entire topics and revise them every week. First, start by reading a national daily newspaper. Hindu or Indian Express will do. Read all NCERTS from class 6 to 12. Prepare self-study notes. Then move on to standard textbooks. After completing each topic, solve some previous year questions to self evaluate. Made corrections in study plan if required.
Chief aspirants have cleared the exams by self-preparation. If you are a self-driven person, prepare a study timetable and religiously follow it. Otherwise, join a coaching institute where you can get good resources and proper directions throughout your preparation period.
