Reluctant is a state of mind which makes one hesitant/unwillingness to start a thing; it could be due to various factors such as personal dislike; fear of failure or consequences; not being in the mood etc. Whereas inefficient is performing below the expected (expectation by self or others) proficiency level (the aspects generally are quality of work, quantity, cost or time taken).

Abhishree; I do not see much difference between a one-on-one face to face tuition and one-on-one online tuition , provided both the tutor and student do not get distracted by other things. However, one distinct advantage of online education is if the sessions are recorded, then one can replay it to clarify and understand the concept in future too. As for studying and scoring high, whether online or face to face, it will depend on aspects such as clarity of the idea of the tutor and the understanding of the student; and more so, on the repeated practice given by the tutor, to be done by the student.

Shruti; To develop skills,, one needs to identify/be aware of what skills are required in order to be developed. What is the current proficiency level and the desired proficiency level to which the ability needs to be developed (thereby identifying the gap that exists currently) as well as what are the behavioural and attitudinal aspects that are required to develop the skill. How do you see this skill in yourself and how do others perceive the expertise in you - the gap. The process would involve practising the craft; keen observation; in-depth reflection and conceptualizing; then practising again. This cycle should continue until such time you have attained the desired proficiency level.

Shilpa; We as parents many times like to be worried about our child, as we think it is our love and affection to them. This worry is most of the time detrimental to the growth and development of the child. Every year the child will have and learn different syllabus as well as face more difficult challenges. As a parent, in my opinion, it is our responsibility to provide the child with an environment where she/he can face these challenges and emerge more reliable, independent and responsible.

These are the formative years of a child; we need to create/expose the child to more and more different experiences so that the child develops his likings, inclinations, skills etc. We need to be more observant of them in identifying their emerging talents and nurture them. These and more, I think, would be better aspects to be concerned about as a parent.
